In Sanatan-dharma cows are considered mother. They are seen as symbols of purity, motherhood, and abundance. Gau Daan or Gau Seva is considered to be a very meritorious act that brings great blessings to the donor. ISKCON Varanasi, supports more than 80 cows by providing fodder, shelter and medical care for them daily.
